Gardener's Hand Cream A very rich cream for hard working hands. Not just gardeners but mechanics, nurses - anyone who's hands get a hard time, or just have dry skin. It acts as a barrier cream and is a restorative. Beeswax, lampolin, sunflower and almond oils, calendula, comfrey, chamomile, spring water. Lightly scented with neroli oil.
Lotion Similar to the Gardener's Hand Cream but softer. No lanolin, more water. Use for hands, rest of body and as a night cream for the face. Available scented with rose or lavender.
Skin Healing Salve - Formula 1 Calendula, comfrey, St John's wort and selfheal macerated in sunflower oil, set with beeswax and lavender and tea-tree oils added. An amazingly effective treatment for eczema, psoriasis, cuts, grazes, burns (after they've cooled) etc. NB the root causes of things like excema and psoriasis must still be looked into and dealt with.
Skin Healing Salve - Formula 2 An all-purpose salve for skin health and immunity. For cuts, sores, rashes, eczema, burns, itchy spots. Ingredients: olive oil infused with calendular flowers, comfrey leaves, echinacea flowers, lemon balm, beeswax, vitamin E, essential oils of myrrh, thyme, lavender, eucalyptus, orange and rosemary. This mixture of herbs has a soothing and regenerative effect on damaged skin as well as a natural antibiotic and antifungal effect.
Calendular Salve A luxurious salve for the skin made from olive oil and infused with calendular flowers, cocoa butter, shea butter, beeswax, essential oils of orange, vertivert, sandalwood and lavender.
Lavender Salve A luxurious salve for the skin made from olive oil and infused with calendular flowers, cocoa butter, beeswax, essential oils of lavender, rosemary, patchouli and lime.
Lip Balm Healing herbs in sunflower and olive oils, set with beeswax. Protection and healing. Good too for when you've got a cold and the end of your nose gets sore as well, and people have reported it healing cold-sores.
Chest Rub This is a cracker. Goose fat macerated with white horehound, with camphor oil added. Very good for coughs and bad chests in small children. (White horehound is very good but tastes very, very bitter. They used to boil it with lots of sugar to make cough sweets but I prefer this way of getting the herbs into them!)
Ache and Pain Liniment A warm, soothing rub for bruises, aching joints and muscles etc. With arnica, comfrey and rosemary macerated oils and peppermint, eucalyptus and pine essential oils.
I must stress that these are for treating minor ailments. The bad hair day isn't for treating depression, the liver tonic is for after a weekend's partying not full-on liver disease, etc. If symptoms persist consult a herbalist or other medical practitioner.
Remember! These are medicines: only take them if you know what you are doing.
Also available in larger quantities.

Our soap is handmade using olive oil infused with our own home-grown organic calendular flowers. Calendular is very soothing and nourishing for your skin. The oil is then mixed with tallow and lard from our own animals and lye to create a luxurious soap. We have decided to use tallow and lard because this was a by-product of the animals on our smallholding which would otherwise be wasted. This seemed better to us than using palm oil which often comes from plantations which has huge environmental impact on species such as orangutans.
Many of the essential oils used to create our fragrance combinations come directly from fair-trade sources in India. Jyoti has created these recipes based on memorable events in her smallholding life.
