Tempest HouseTempest House has around 10 acres of unimproved grazing and 50 acres of woodland, some of which has been recently clear felled. The grazing has been continuously used for sheep for the past 50 years and we are going to be resting it for up to two years. During this period, we will be grazing cows and producing some hay. All our heating is wood-fired and we sell surplus firewood locally. We plan to increase firewood production substantially over the next 3-5 years. We work closely with Fivepenny Farm in managing our sheep. And would be interested in Co-operative marketing of meat. Trill FarmWeave WorldAfter studying Textiles at Farnham I set up my weaving studio with help from the Princes Youth Business Trust in 1999. I weave scarves and blankets using wool that I dye using traditional plant dyes. Over the years my business has developed into running workshops at festivals such as Glastonbury and the Big Green Gathering, with my stall Weaveworld in craft areas and children's areas delivering weaving, plant dye and felt making activities. I have taught workshops at The Dorset Centre for Rural skills, Sherborne House and Stroudwater Textile Skills Centre. I have been involved in creative projects with adults with mental health issues, and in special schools such as Yewstock School and Fairmead School. I've also been a Visiting Artist for TESS, Traveller Education Support Service, Clayesmore School and The Brewhouse Theatre,Taunton. I am a part time lecturer in Plant Dyes and Weaving at Bath Spa University and have worked for Sarah Burnett's The Natural Dye Company. I currently work part- time with children excluded from mainstream school at Dorchester Learning Centre. I am registered with several arts in education agencies and have eight years experience of textile projects in schools. I like using simple looms, equipment and recycled materials to create colourful works of art. It is important to me to make sure the work is accessible and achievable to all the children involved so it means tailoring a project to fit the needs of the school. I think it is in my nature to encourage creativity in others as an extension of exploring my own creativity.
