The facilities available to co-op members include:

There is also a tea room with a small library packing with books about processing, preserving and smallholding.

Juicing, Jams and Chutneys Room

We have an old-fashioned single-screw cider press plated with stainless steel to meet Environmental Health standards. It can press up to a ton and a half of apples at a time (60 sacks). It can produce up to 700 bottles of juice in one pressing. We also have an electric apple crusher, bottling and pasteurising equipment. The room can be hired for £40 per day by co-op members or if you have apples which you would like to have pressed they can be pressed, bottled and pasteurised by co-op members for £1.20 per bottle. Alternatively you can join in on our annual community pressing day and bring your own apple and take home some juice.

We have a large catering stove and loads of stainless steels pans in a organically certified, Environmental Health standard room which can be hired for £20 a day by co-op members. We have a stock of jam jars which can be purchased for 20p each and organic fairtrade sugar, organic vinegar and spices which can be purchased at the barn.

Herbal Processing

Herbs can also be processed in the juicing room. We have a tincture press, an essential oil still, herb drier and a range of jars and bottles which can be purchased. Room hire for herbal processing is £20 per day.

Meat Cutting Room

We have a Soil Association organically certified and Environmental Health certified meat cutting room that producers can rent for processing their own meat. It is not for slaughter. It has a range of butchery tools, a meat grinder, a sausage stuffer, vacuum packer, cold room and meat slicer. It can be hired for £20 a day by co-op members.

Dairy

We have a small dairy for processing yoghurt and cheese for direct sales only. There is a cheese vat, cheese presses, cream separator and yoghurt cabinet. Room hire is negotiable by arrangement.

Catering Facilities

The juicing room can also be used as a catering kitchen with loads of food preparation space and a mobile six-ring gas cooker with a catering-sized oven. We also have for hire cutlery, plates, bowls and mugs so that small producers can cater for events. The cost of hiring the room is £40 per day.

Events Space

The upstairs of the barn is a beautiful timber framed space with a sea view suitable for co-op members to hold events for up to 40 people.

 Ifor Williams Trailer

We have a trailer that can be hired by cooperative members for £10 per day in the local area or £25 per day for longer journeys.
